Distinctive Patios, LLC was established in 2008 by Rick Hamilton in West Chester, Ohio. Rick had recently retired from Procter & Gamble after a 30 year career where he was an Associate Director in the Global Business Services organization. Looking for a new outlet for his creativity, business sense, construction skills and passion, Rick decided to start a hardscape business with the objective of delivering high quality custom designs, at a fair price and guaranteed customer satisfaction.

Since then, Distinctive Patios continued to grow organically, and has officially outgrown our namesake — we are Cincinnati’s premier design build firm with a focus on delivering luxury outdoor living spaces. Whether that includes a louvered roof and outdoor kitchen, a deck with a sunroom, or a pool with a pavilion, we have the expertise to bring your comprehensive outdoor living space to life. This growth was only possible by retaining skilled resources and bringing in new leaders to propel the business. In 2015, Austin Miller joined the team and now as Vice President, leads the consulting/sales effort among many other things. In 2023, Elliott Miller assumed an Operations Lead role, focusing on project management and delivery. More recently, Marianne Hamilton has joined and leads our Executive Leadership team as we look to the future, focusing on strategic planning, organizational design, and financial growth. Together, our skilled team will design, build and manage your project from start to successful finish.

Ultimately, it comes down to having the skilled resources to do the work and the unmatched quality we leave in our jobs that will make the difference!
